Today, 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available in Mint State condition.

In the eagle design of the Peace Silver Dollar, de Francisci took American coin design in a different direction. Unlike earlier designs that often featured eagles with outstretched wings and arrows, Anthony de Francisci’s artwork intentionally steered away from military imagery, choosing instead to reflect the nation’s desire for peace after World War I.

All 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins in this listing are packaged in protective slabs and graded Mint State 64. MS64 coins have average mint luster remaining with several small contact marks grouped together on the coin’s field. One or two moderate marks are also possible, as well as one or two small patches of hairlines.

On the obverse of 1935 Peace Dollar Coins, you’ll find a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. This historic design shows Liberty with free-flowing hair as she wears a towering crown of light on her head. It is widely accepted that de Francisci used his own wife as inspiration for the physical features of Liberty’s face.

The reverse field of the 1935 Peace Silver Dollar comes with an image of the American bald eagle. This distinctive design depicts the eagle perched on a rocky outcrop. As its wings rest at its side, the eagle clutches an olive branch in its talons. It is shown gazing off into the distance as the sun rises on a new era of peace.
