A beautiful 2014 1/4oz gold Nugget coin from Perth Mint. This coin features the red kangaroo on it’s reverse design, and celebrates 25 years of the gold nugget series; 1998 – 2014.

Celebrating 25 years of the iconic red kangaroo design, these spectacular gold coins feature the original artistry by Dr Stuart Devlin AO CMG, goldsmith and jeweller to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The iconic red kangaroo design, featured on this 25th anniversary commemorative, was originally introduced as part of the Australian nugget coin program as the new theme for the 1989 Proof Issue.

The reverse of each coin portrays a bounding red kangaroo surrounded by stylised rays of sunlight, and bordered by the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, the weight, 9999 GOLD and the year-dates 1989 -2014.  A special Perth Mint anniversary mintmark ‘P25’ also appears in the design.
