The obverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold Golden Eagle Coin includes Samoa’s official coat of arms. The shield bears a palm tree above ocean waves, with the Southern Cross constellation shown in the lower portion. A Christian cross crowns the shield, and a banner below reads FA’AVAE I LE ATUA SAMOA, which translates to “God is the Foundation of Samoa” or “Samoa is Founded on God.”
The reverse of 2025 Samoa Gold Golden Eagles displays a golden eagle in mid-flight. Known for their ability to soar at high altitudes and execute dives at over 150 mph, golden eagles prey primarily on small mammals such as rabbits, marmots, and even juvenile deer, but will also eat birds and carrion as available.
A golden eagle’s exceptional eyesight is roughly eight times sharper than human vision, allowing them to spot prey from distances of over two miles, while their broad wings and strong flight muscles enable them to soar effortlessly on thermal currents for hours.
