The obverse of the 2026 1 oz Gold Philharmonic Coins displays the Great Pipe Organ inside the Musikverein. This organ, a centerpiece of the concert hall, was first built by Friedrich Ladegast in 1872 and has since been expanded and updated by multiple organ builders.
On the reverse of the 2026 Austrian Gold Philharmonic, you will see an arrangement of instruments traditionally associated with the Vienna Philharmonic. This design includes a central cello with four violins on either side, accompanied by a bassoon, harp, and Vienna horn positioned in the background.
The Vienna Philharmonic maintains distinctive instrumental traditions that set it apart from other orchestras worldwide. Members play on instruments including the Vienna horn (a unique valveless horn), wooden timpani, the Vienna oboe with its characteristic darker sound, and historically authentic string instruments often featuring gut strings, all contributing to the orchestra’s unmistakable warm, golden tone.
These 2026 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are available individually in plastic flips, with multiples packaged in acrylic tubes of 10 or Monster Boxes of 100 coins. Each box holds 10 tubes in total, and all coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
