This unique obverse field of the Nevada Goldback Gold Note depicts the female personification of Caritas. The Latin term, Caritas, translates to Charity which is considered one of the seven virtues in Christian theology. Caritas is shown here floating through a window with some birds and potted plants in the foreground.
Due to the thin nature of these Gold Notes, the reverse of the 1 Nevada Goldback Gold Note features a mirrored image of the obverse. These notes are so thin that any design element on the reverse would alter the obverse.
