This made the Proof American Gold Eagles the only collection of gold coins to have four different weight categories in the US at the time of their production. It depicts the lovely Lady Liberty with a flaming torch in her right hand, and an olive branch in the other as she marches forward in confidence and grace with the Capitol in the background.

For the reverse of the 1995-W 4-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set, private artist and sculptor Miley Busiek is credited for the imagery. It features a male bald eagle flying over the family nest, which contains a group of hatchlings and the female eagle standing guard.

As Proof Gold Eagles, these coins will feature a mint mark from West Point Mints. American Gold Eagle Coins are 22-karat gold with a composition of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver.
