The obverse design features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ image of Liberty, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The reverse design of the American Gold Eagle is by sculptor Miley Busiek, and features a male Eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest.
