A beautiful Royal Mint set from 2013 featuring three gold one pound proof coins celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first £1 coin.

The 30th Anniversary of the first £1 coin set features the three “Royal Arms” £1 coin designs in proof form – The Royal Arms by Eric Sewell, A Crowned Shield of the Royal Arms by Derek Gorringe and A Shield of the Royal Arms by matthew Dent.

This limited edition presentation set was restricted to 100 sets – the coins themselves are limited to 100 mintage, apart from the Derek Gorringe version which has 300 circulation, so a very rare set indeed.

The Royal Mint produce a number of 1 Pound proof coins in gold for collectors. These gold £1 proof coins will typically be of the commemorative version of the pound coins in circulation, but in gold proof quality. Occasionally sets of £1 proof gold coins are also produced for years with multiple-coin collections.
